Personal style is the expression of identity, and evolves as we do. Yes, your identity has evolved in stages of development. Think about the story of you from embryo to infant, toddler, child, teenager, and finally you matured into adulthood.

You don’t become another person, you carry your psychological temperament, biology and inner conscientiousness with you, but shift in other key areas: personal, social and professional roles, responsibilities, interests, experiences, values, skills and personal life goals.

This is natural, and yet somehow we can feel resistant to unfamiliar change, or even frightened to let go of things that we believed to be a part of our identity forever. We go on evolving and discovering seemingly new parts of ourselves unleashed through new passions and pursuits. It makes sense that our personal preferences may also shift, and that we outgrow our style image, which is a non-verbal way to communicate a snapshot of our multifaceted identities.
